Leicester City fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement of Abdul Fatawu’s permanent transfer, even though the club’s updated squad list includes the Ghanaian attacker.

Fatawu initially joined Leicester on loan from Sporting CP for the 2023/24 season, where he made a significant impact with 20 goal contributions in 43 appearances. This stellar performance helped Leicester secure promotion, thereby activating a €17 million (£14.8 million) obligation-to-purchase clause in his loan agreement.

As of July 1, Fatawu is officially a permanent player for the Foxes, yet the club has made no formal announcement. The winger was recently spotted at the King Power Stadium, further suggesting his imminent inclusion in the squad.

Leicester’s official men’s first-team squad list on their website also features Fatawu, reinforcing the belief that he will soon be officially introduced as a permanent member.

The squad list update is recent and reflects other significant changes, such as the departure of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea for £30 million. These updates ensure that the list is current and accurate, supporting the notion that Fatawu’s inclusion is not merely a holdover from last season.

Meanwhile, Leicester City has been active in the transfer market under the management of Steve Cooper. The club recently confirmed the signings of Bobby Decordova-Reid on a free transfer and 18-year-old Michael Golding from Chelsea for £4 million. Additionally, Leicester is reportedly pursuing an ambitious move for Juventus talent Matias Soule.

The speculation surrounding Fatawu’s official announcement continues to grow, with fans eagerly anticipating the formal confirmation of his signing.
