In a remarkable twist, Nottingham Forest’s standout defender, Murillo, has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League, garnering attention from top clubs, including Real Madrid and Manchester City.

The 22-year-old Brazilian, who joined Nottingham Forest from Corinthians for €12 million with potential add-ons of €3 million in 2023, has rapidly established himself as a key player.

Murillo’s rise has been meteoric, featuring in 36 matches for Nottingham Forest and starting in all 32 league games since his debut on matchday six, accumulating an impressive 2,793 minutes on the pitch. His dynamic playing style and ability to contribute to attacking plays have drawn comparisons to his compatriot, David Luiz.

Despite having a contract with Nottingham Forest until 2028, Murillo has expressed his desire to join a club with a strong winning culture. In an interview with Benja Me Mucho, Murillo revealed his admiration for both Manchester City and Real Madrid.

“It’s incredible. Today, Manchester City, for me, along with Real Madrid, is the best team in the world. The pieces they have and the coach they have make a lot of difference,” he said.

He also mentioned that a call from Pep Guardiola would be a dream come true, acknowledging the competitive spirit and consistent success of both clubs.

Forest, aware of Murillo’s growing reputation, are reportedly open to offers around £50 million. Chelsea has shown interest in Murillo as a potential successor to the aging Thiago Silva.

Murillo prefer Manchester City or Real Madrid Move

However, Murillo’s preference remains clear, as he aspires to play under the tactical prowess of Guardiola at City or at the illustrious Santiago Bernabéu.

Despite Murillo’s enthusiasm, Real Madrid’s interest seems to be directed elsewhere, specifically towards Leny Yoro from Lille. This preference makes a move to the Spanish giants less likely at this moment.

As Murillo continues to shine in the Premier League, his future remains a hot topic. Whether he stays at Nottingham Forest or moves to one of Europe’s elite clubs, his journey is sure to be closely followed by football fans and analysts alike.
